Palmetto GBA to Provide EDI Services to Louisiana and Mississippi Part A Providers
TriSpan Health Services (TriSpan) will terminate its fiscal intermediary (FI) agreement for the Medicare fee-for-service program (also known as Original Medicare) on September 30, 2009. As the prime contractor for the FIs, the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association has nominated Pinnacle Business Solutions Inc. (PBSI) as the replacement FI for these two states. Palmetto GBA will be assisting CMS and PBSI with this transition by providing EDI services. Palmetto GBA operates a large EDI network servicing multiple Medicare contractor workloads. This means that all Medicare Part A providers who currently bill TriSpan must be able to submit their electronic claims to Palmetto GBA when the transition occurs on September 30, 2009.
