On June 30, 2009, the FDA approved Feraheme, an iron replacement product indicated for the treatment of iron deficiency anemia in adult patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). Therefore, Palmetto GBA will reimburse Feraheme for patients diagnosed with chronic kidney disease.
