5010 Move-to-Production Procedures - Updated

Palmetto GBA has made the 5010 Production Request process quick and easy. Please contact the Technology Support Center at (866) 749-4301 if you have any questions regarding the 5010 Move to Production procedures or any other questions regarding 5010 testing. Please request to be transferred to Second Level support for assistance.

For Vendors
Step 1: When you have successfully completed testing of your software for the ASC X12 837 5010 Errata format, please complete the form fields on the 5010 Production Request - Software Vendors form (PDF, 77 KB) and save the file. Attach the completed form to an e-mail addressed to medicare.hipaa@palmettogba.com with 'Request for Vendor Production Status' in the subject line. Please do not send multiple requests for the same Vendor ID.

Step 2: Palmetto GBA will verify that your software has been successfully tested. You will receive an e-mail confirming the vendor information included on the 5010 Production request form will be included in an updated version of the Certified 5010 Vendor list.

Step 3: Please notify your customers that your 5010 software release is available. Advise them that they can request production status by completing the quick and easy 5010 production request outlined below.

For Submitters
Step 1:
 Check the Part A Approved 5010 Errata Vendors list (PDF, 32 KB) or Part B Approved 5010 Errata Vendors list (PDF, 44 KB) to ensure that your vendor’s software has been successfully tested in the ASC X12 837 5010 Errata format.

  • Submitters using software from a vendor listed on the certified 5010 Vendor List do not have to submit a test to become 5010 production certified.
  • Submitters using PC-ACE Pro32 software have been moved into 5010 production and do not need to submit a request.
  • If you do not use software from a vendor listed on the Certified 5010 Vendor List, you must complete the ASC X12 837 v5010 Errata Testing Procedures (PDF, 133 KB) prior to moving to Step 2.

Step 2:  Please complete the form fields on the 5010 Production Request - Submitter form (PDF, 58 KB) and save the file. Attach the completed form to an e-mail addressed to medicare.hipaa@palmettogba.com with 'Request for Submitter Production Status' in the subject line. If you do not have e-mail access, please contact our Technology Support Center at (866) 749-4301, and request Second Level Support. Please do not send multiple requests for the same Submitter ID.

Step 3: Palmetto GBA will verify that your software has been successfully tested and respond to your e-mail confirming that your Submitter ID has been approved for 5010 production claims submission for the lines of business you highlighted.
