Regional Home Health & Hospice Intermediary (RHHI)
Medical Affairs Seeks Representatives to Serve on the Hospice Intermediary Advisory Committee (IAC) for 2009

Palmetto GBA utilizes an interdisciplinary Intermediary Advisory Committee (IAC) in the drafting of Local Coverage Determinations (LCDs). The IAC is comprised of experienced clinicians and policy experts from hospices.

Part A Medical Affairs is currently seeking nominations for Hospice IAC members from Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. The primary purpose of this committee is to participate in the development of Part A LCDs pertaining to hospice services. This IAC will potentially meet semi-annually for approximately three hours. The IAC will meet based on the LCDs being developed, and will be comprised of individuals with relevant knowledge and skills to address the proposed LCDs.

Nominations will be accepted from Medicare-certified Part A providers currently submitting claims to Palmetto GBA. In addition, the nominating providers must be in good standing with the Medicare program. Nominees should have a clinical background (e.g. physician, nurse, therapist) and be experienced in analyzing medical policy. A clinical background is essential in order to understand the medical content of the LCDs.

Please submit the names, addresses and curriculum vitae (CV) of your nominees by March 31, 2009, to the following address:
