Regional Home Health & Hospice Intermediary (RHHI)
South Carolina Part A Workload Transition to Enterprise Data Center

The Enterprise Data Center (EDC) is a Centers for Medicaid & Medicare Services (CMS) contractor responsible for hosting and operating the Medicare processing systems. CMS is in the process of moving all of the Medicare contractors to one of three EDCs. Palmetto GBA will transition the SC Part A and the SE/SW and GC/MW Regional Home Health contracts to the EDC the weekend of October 17 - 19, 2008. The payment floor will not be lowered during the transition.  Normal processing and payment cycles will continue as scheduled. Providers submitting claims via Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) may continue to submit claim files on Saturday and Sunday, October 18 and 19. EDI front-end reports will be returned as normal. Daily and weekly cycles will run on Friday October 17, and will resume on Monday, October 20.

The Fiscal Intermediary Shared System (FISS) Direct Data Entry (DDE) application will be unavailable beginning 7 p.m., EST on Friday, October 17 through Monday October 20.  During this time the Provider Contact Center (PCC) representatives and the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) unit will be unable to respond to inquiries. Provider DDE access and PCC/IVR activities will resume on Tuesday, October 21.

New DDE IDs will be assigned to all current users. Written notification with the new IDs and passwords will be mailed prior to the implementation date. The new IDs will be mailed to the current contact listed on file with EDI Operations. These IDs may not be used prior to the implementation date. DDE ID requests received after October 1, 2008 may be held until October 21, 2008.

Please monitor the Palmetto GBA Web site for updates.
