How to Attend Webcasts via ON24

Published 06/23/2022

Palmetto GBA utilizes ON24 Webcasting for our live and encore internet events. General event registration information and technical requirements for attending ON24 events will be available on our website with each event announcement.

ON24 allows us to present, share and replay training information in an effective and user-friendly way. ON24 provides users with a customizable, dynamic experience, HTML and flash-based audio and event delivery and full mobile device access.

To attend a webcast via ON24, all you need to do is to select the event link provided in the event announcement. If it is a registration-required event, attendees must register on the event link page before attending the event. The registration link is the first link on the left of the event link page.

Technical Requirements for ON24 Events
Before attending an ON24 event, please ensure you are using one of the below supported browsers.

For PCs running Windows 10 or newer

  • Google Chrome v87+
  • Mozilla Firefox v83+
  • Microsoft Edge Browser v87+

For Macs running Mac OS 10.15 or newer

  • Google Chrome v87+
  • Mozilla Firefox v83+
  • Safari v10.14+

Official support for the latest version of a browser, among those noted above, will be added within eight weeks of public release. Until then, the previous version will continue to be supported instead.

ON24 also supports an HTML5 webcast experience on iOS 15+ and Android 9+ smartphones and tablets using HTTP Live Streaming (HLS).

Audience Bandwidth Requirements

  • For audio events we recommend a minimum Internet connection of 128 Kbps
  • For video events a minimum Internet connection of 800 Kbps is recommended for an optimal experience
  • Test your connection here

The following problems can contribute to having insufficient bandwidth:

  • If you are connecting to the Internet through a slow connection, or over a congested WiFi or cellular (mobile) network
  • You are trying to access a webinar during peak Internet traffic hours
  • If you are connecting to the Internet from a mobile device
  • There is heavy traffic on your company network

To optimize bandwidth, you may consider the following:

  • Upgrading to a stronger, faster, and more stable connection
  • Minimize the number of applications you are running while accessing the event
  • Try accessing the event during an off-peak Internet traffic period when network congestion may have lessened
