Description
Value codes A1, A2, A7, B1, B2, B7, C1, C2 and C7 are not allowed on the entry of direct data entry claims effective with dates on or after July 1, 2007.

Resolution
The National Uniform Billing Committee (NUBC) has restricted the use of these value codes to the paper UB-04 claim form. Therefore, providers may not submit any of these codes in their X12N 837 Institutional claim transactions. Remove these codes to allow the claim to continue processing.
