Noridian Healthcare Solutions along with CGS Administrators, First Coast Services Options, National Government Services, Novitas Solutions, Palmetto GBA and WPS Government Health Administrators hosted a Multi-Jurisdictional Contractor Advisory Committee (CAC) Meeting via teleconference on May 12, 2021, from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. ET. Discussions focused on Amniotic Product Injections for Musculoskeletal Indications, Non-Wound.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) assigns Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs) the task of developing Local Coverage Determinations (LCDs). The purpose of the CAC meeting is to provide a formal mechanism for healthcare professionals to be informed of the evidence used in developing an LCD and promote communications between the MACs and the healthcare community.

The CAC panel will discussed the clinical literature related to Amniotic Product Injections for musculoskeletal Indications, non-wound and rate their confidence in a series of key questions. Discussions occured between CAC panelists and contractor medical directors. Questions from the public were not be entertained. 

Interested stakeholders were invited to listen via teleconference; advance registration was required. Lines were remain muted throughout the conference except for the invited CAC panelists and the MAC hosts.
