This notice is to remind all Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics, and Supplies (DMEPOS) suppliers that registration, the first step in the Round 1 Recompete of the Medicare DMEPOS Competitive Bidding Program, is open.
The Competitive Bidding Implementation Contractor (CBIC) is the official information source for suppliers interested in bidding. If you are interested in bidding and have not already visited the CBIC website for a user ID and password through the Individuals Authorized Access to CMS Computer Services (IACS) system and to use the bidder education materials, we urge you to do so immediately. All suppliers interested in bidding should also sign up for email Updates on the home page of the CBIC website.
If you have not already registered and obtained your user ID and password, it is particularly important that you register right away because registration closes on October 19, 2012 at 9 p.m. prevailing Eastern Time. If you do not register, you cannot bid.
Registration is typically a quick and easy process if you follow the step-by-step instructions in the IACS Reference Guide posted on the CBIC website. To register, go to the CBIC website and select Round 1 Recompete. Next, click on 'Registration is Open' above the Registration Clock on the home page. If you have any questions about the registration process, please contact the CBIC Customer Service Center at 1-877-577-5331.
