Answer: Please keep in mind billing privileges may only be issued to one supplier operating in any given physical location. All physical locations must be recognized by the United States Postal Service (USPS). If there are multiple businesses at the same physical location, only one of the businesses may receive billing privileges. Also, the other businesses are prohibited from using the billing privileges issued to that one supplier. See supplier standards 18 and 29 for more detailed information. 'Physical location' is not necessarily defined as a single building. If there are valid suites in the building recognized by the USPS, each suite is considered a separate location for the purposes of obtaining billing privileges. The key word is 'valid'. Sharing a suite with another business by creating a suite number that is not recognized by the USPS will not suffice and would not be considered an 'appropriate site'. If the supplier is not operating its business from a valid physical location, it will not receive billing privileges. In order to be in compliance with supplier standard 7, the supplier must maintain a physical facility on an appropriate site. The physical facility must contain space for storing business records including the supplier's delivery, maintenance and beneficiary communication records. Unannounced site visits are conducted and research is completed to validate all physical addresses. This is a routine part of the enrollment process.
