This article will assist you in entering the Provider Transaction Account Number (PTAN), Medicare number and patient's name in the Palmetto GBA IVR.
The IVR Conversion Tool will automatically convert your PTAN, patient's Medicare number and patient's name.
Be sure to write down the conversion numbers before calling the IVR. Keep it prominent for future IVR calls.
Chart for alphabetic characters in PTAN. Example: If the PTAN contains the letter V, enter *83 followed by the other numeric characters.
Chart for alphabetic portion of a Medicare number. Example: If the Medicare number ends in the letter A, enter the numeric portion of the Medicare number as instructed by the IVR. When the IVR asks for the alpha character, enter *21 to represent the 'A.'
Chart for the first six characters of the beneficiary’s last name. Example: If the patient’s last name is Smith, enter 76484.
