Effective immediately, Palmetto GBA has established a JJ / JM COVID-19 Hotline at 833–820–6138, which is available Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET.
What does this mean to you? This allows physicians and nonphysician practitioners to initiate temporary provisional Medicare billing privileges via telephone and address questions regarding provider enrollment flexibilities afforded by the COVID-19 waiver. We will process your application while you are on the telephone to establish a Provider Enrollment Chain and Ownership System (PECOS) enrollment record.
What if my application is not approved?
Approved, what’s next? When temporary provisional Medicare billing privileges are approved, we shall assign a PTAN/Billing number and a retroactive effective date that is no earlier than March 1, 2020. A temporary billing approval letter will also be sent to you.
