When providers submit a Medicare enrollment application they have access to our easy-to-use Application Status Lookup Tool. This tool provides current status updates on their application.

In April, 2019, the JJ and JM Provider Enrollment Application Status Lookup tool was enhanced by adding additional application types to obtain a status, introducing greater flexibility and providing more detail than was previously provided.

Rather than short, cursory responses to provider inquiries, these enhancements provide thorough statements, in complete sentences, such as “The document was received and is pending a response to a development request. Providers have 30 days from the date of request to respond. If no response is received or is incomplete, the application will be closed.”

This information is available for application types 855A, 855B, 855I, 855R and 855O, and Medicare Diabetes Prevention Program. Additionally, the tool will provide updates on submitted CMS 588 (EFT), CMS 460 (Participating Agreement), reconsideration requests, opt-out affidavits, license updates and voluntary terminations requests.
