Medicare Part B Premiums and Deductibles for 2022

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has released the Part B premium and deductible costs for 2022. Railroad Medicare processes claims for Part B services. 

The 2022 standard Part B premium amount has increased from $148.50 in 2021 to $170.10 in 2022, which is a difference of $21.60. This increase (at 14.5 percent) is the largest since the inception of the Medicare program. Per CMS, most people pay $170.10, though those with higher or lower incomes have monthly adjusted amounts.

The following table shows the monthly premium payments based on a beneficiary’s 2020 income:

As for the 2022 annual Part B deductible, it is also increasing from $203 to $233, a $30 difference.
