Send Medical Documentation to the RRB SMAC: esMD Live for Appeals and Medical Review ADR Responses

The Railroad Retirement Board Specialty Medicare Administrative Contractor (RRB SMAC) accepts medical records via esMD (Electronic Submission of Medical Documentation System) for Appeals and responses to Medical Review Additional Documentation Requests (ADR). In order to send medical documentation electronically via esMD, Railroad Medicare providers, including physicians, hospitals and suppliers, must use a Health Information Handler (HIH) to submit documentation.

Please be sure your HIH is aware of which documentation to upload to Railroad Medicare, and not to other Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs).
