For your personalized eCBR results on Office or Outpatient Prolonged (E/M) Services (CPT codes 99354-99357) log into our eServices portal. An eCBR will be available for providers who have at least 10 claims in history for this CPT code family during the time period selected.

An overview of the criteria for billing Prolonged E/M Physician Services with Direct Patient Contact is being made available for your review for clarification purposes.  Medicare allows for coverage of prolonged provider services when billed on the same day by the same physician, or qualified Non-Physician Practitioner (NPP), as the companion evaluation and management codes. You may count only the duration of direct face-to-face contact with the patient (whether the service was continuous or not) beyond the typical/average time of the visit code billed. Although the codes allow for usage with psychotherapy services, for the purpose of this eCBR only claims with evaluation and management companion codes were considered. See Table 1 for descriptions of the codes.
