Do I Need to Let Railroad Medicare Know My Supplemental Insurance Has Changed?
Answer
No. Railroad Medicare does not maintain any supplemental insurance records. If Railroad Medicare is forwarding claim information to your previous supplemental insurance, please contact your previous supplemental insurance provider and ask to be removed from their crossover file.
Crossover is a process when the primary insurer passes claims information to the supplemental insurer. If you would like Railroad Medicare to begin sending claims information to your new supplemental insurance, please contact your new supplemental insurance and verify their participation in the crossover process. If your new supplemental insurance does participate, your new insurer will be responsible for adding you to their crossover files. Railroad Medicare cannot add, remove, or make any changes to a crossover file.
