Your Palmetto GBA Provider Outreach and Education staff collaborates with the Durable Medical Equipment (DME) MACs to provide Medicare information from the provider and the DME supplier perspective. In addition to joint education opportunities, the DME MACs maintain a special section on their websites specific to physicians, nonphysician practitioners and clinicians. These web pages include “Dear Physician Letters” written by the DME MAC Medical Directors, documentation checklists for Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics, and Supplies (DMEPOS) items, short educational videos and the “Physicians!
